Tracking System
Real-time tracking and analysis of all data from the mine.
Using visualization and analysis tools, the system collected all data together
in a customizable enterprise dashboard.
Research Data on Design Principles
1. User-Centered Design
User Research:
Interviews and Surveys: Conducted interviews and surveys with target users to understand their needs, preferences, and pain points.
Observed users interacting with similar systems to identify usability issues and opportunities for improvement.
Personas: Created detailed user personas to represent different user groups and their goals.
Developed empathy maps to understand users' thoughts, feelings, actions, and pain points related to the system.
Conducted usability testing with prototypes or early versions of the system to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement.
Results:
Operational Efficiency: The monitoring system improved operational efficiency by providing real-time insights and enabling proactive maintenance.
Enhanced Safety: The system contributed to a safer working environment by providing real-time alerts for potential hazards.
Reduced Costs: The system helped reduce energy costs and maintenance expenses through optimized operations.
Successful Project Delivery: Successfully delivered the project within the specified timeline and budget, meeting client expectations.
The system provided the possibility for miners to send a distress signal to the surface in case of any incidents. Strata Commtrac had the capability of online data transmission from sensors (gas, temperature) embedded in the headlamp with location tracking.
Created various types of reports. The system allowed customization and creation of dynamic graphs and charts, generating reports such as overall equipment effectiveness, downtime monitoring, timesheet accounting, etc. Reports were sent within the system to all concerned employees.
